Betulin Lab adapts organic solvent ethanol for the production of birch bark extract
We are well aware of the growing global demand among cosmetics users to use natural plant-based raw materials that are extracted using organic, natural solvents. This is why, at Betulin Lab, we have carried out half a year of research, resulting in the adaptation of an organic solvent – ethanol – for the production of birch bark extract. Its use in the production of birch bark extract will pave the way for the future COSMOS EcoCert approval certificate – certification that the product is produced using organic ingredients. As a reminder, birch bark extract contains the biologically active triterpenes betulin, betulinic acid and lupeol.
